“How old is too old to be a Pinup Girl?” is a question I’ve been pondering with some frustration lately. The frustration aspect comes mainly from dealing so often with women who don’t feel ‘good enough’ for any number of reasons. (In this case, specifically due to their age)
While it’s true that women change over time as they are growing older, Isn’t it true that women also have a different type of beauty at every point in their lives? Whether its the bouncing curls of a young Shirley Temple, the rosy cheeks of a fresh-faced teen, or the twinkle of wisdom and spunk in a grandmother’s eye- I truly believe that EVERY woman is gorgeous, yet still the great tragedy remains that many women think their age means that they can’t be a pinup girl.
To that, I say “NAY NAY!”
In a style defined by all things VINTAGE, who’s to say that age could ever be a bad thing? I’ve heard it said that women are like a fine wine – they mature in depth, in body, and in value over the passing of time.
(and here are two out of the hundreds of Pinup Jane clients who prove it-)
Virginia (in the polka dot dress) was NINETY-TWO when she came to me for her pinup session. She was reluctant, to say the least, but her family insisted. They wanted her to see herself the way they saw her- as a woman who was still beautiful both inside and out! They wanted to help her celebrate a lifetime of loving and caring for others in the most appropriate way – by being loved and cared for herself.
